vintage sewing machines
Saving Old Sewing Machines! Sew Save Me is a joint effort between pals Stevie and Crystal. We enjoy finding and restoring vintage sewing machines that we either resell affordably or add to our own collection. We want to teach you how to do the same so that more of these old beauties stay out of the landfills. We can also show you how to use vintage sewing machines and their attachments for modern day sewing and quilting projects.
Stay away from CRAPlastic sewing machines that will only last a handful of years before breaking. Vintage sewing machines are amazing pieces of machinery. Many have been around for 50-100 years, and after restoration, will last another 50-100! Sadly, they are undervalued. You can often snag an old sewing machine at a yard sale or thrift store for less than $50, yet a new CRAPlastic one costs three times that amount and will be unrepairable while that vintage gal just keeps on sewing.
Do you have a vintage sewing machine but need help to get it up and running? Be sure to check out our YouTube channel for lots of how-to videos.
Visit the Sew Save Me Etsy Store where you can find manuals, parts, and accessories for vintage sewing machines, as well as refurbished machines.
